SCG Owner Operators win Speedco Driveaway Sweepstakes

“Definitely a feeling you can’t describe.”  Those are the words of Keith Sampson when asked about his reaction when his key started the Speedco Expeditor truck given away this past weekend at the 2007 Expedite Expo in Wilmington, OH.  The truck, a 2000 Mack class 8 expeditor vehicle, has been tricked out by the Chrome Shop Mafia of CMT fame.  Sponsored by Speedco, the only national network to specialize in quick lube and tire service for heavy-duty trucks, the custom truck has a race inspired blue and yellow theme.

Keith and his wife, Vickie, found out they were one of six early bird finalists about two weeks before the Expedite Expo.  Speedco flew Keith and Vickie up to Wilmington for an all expense paid trip for the drawing.  When asked how they found out about the contest Vickie said, “We’re at Speedco in Troy, IL, at least every two weeks for our PMs.  We’ve been registering since March when the contest started.”  Vickie and Keith have been driving as a team for over 16 years and have been with SCG since May 2005 and love it.  Making their home in the Dallas area, the Sampsons run dedicated from Dallas to Chicago. Vickie said, “It’s great to finally have a home life along with the job.  We drive 5000 miles a week, and I’m still home five nights a week to cook dinner. This is the first time in 16 years of driving that I can say that.”

Asked what they will do with their new vehicle, the Sampsons say they will probably sell it.  They have been fleet owners in the past, but prefer their current OTR career with SCG.  “Going to another company would be out of the question,” Keith stated when interviewed on the Bubba Bo show.  Vickie reiterates, “There are some great people here [at SCG]; we enjoy what we do.”
